I am basically a brisk walker rather than a runner. Even though I have finished about 2 dozens of marathons and ultra marathons, I did it mostly in brisk walk. Just like my Sundown 100km, I brisk walk 99.5km and sprint the last 500m.
I typically run less than 1/3 during a marathon and never really run continuous for 10km. But with the nice weather today, I did it. For the first 10km of today's run, I run continuously without stopping or walking. I drink during my run. The timing is slow though, it is about 1 hr 15 mins for the 10km. I possibly can race walk the 10km in similar timing. But it is a good result as I determined to improve my running instead of relying on my strong walking.
